For many years, red wine has been associated with many health benefits. A new study published in Nature shows that many mammals can get all the benefits of cutting calories without actually eating less. How? By taking Resveratrol.
“If we’re right about this, it would mean you could have the benefit of restricting calories without having to feel hungry,” Sinclair said. “It’s the Holy Grail of aging research.”
This research, funded partly by the National Institute on Aging, has bee published in the Nature and Cell journal. Since then, Resveratrol has been more popular than ever. Dr. Brent Bauer, the director of the Department of Internal Medicine’s Complimentary and Integrative Medicine Program at the Mayo Clinic, says, “This may be the best thing since sliced bread for human beings, but we just don’t know yet.”
Resveratrol recently made headlines with scientists showed that it helped keep overfed mice from actually gaining weight. It also seemed to slow down their aging and give them the bodies of Olympic athletics. Very few medical discoveries have made such huge headlines as "Resveratrol”
